Wyman and Co. Bring Rhythm to City

This was number 26 out of 36 of Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings tour venues and the City Hall welcomed his return with not a spare seat in the house. And he brought with him as special guest all the way from America – Mary Wilson of The Supremes fame.

A Supreme moment for Aberdeen Proving Ground

Mary Wilson is more than a pretty voice. The founding member of the ’60s and ’70s recording group The Supremes is also an author, cultural ambassador and humanitarian. Wilson was keynote speaker Thursday at a Women’s History Month celebration at Aberdeen Proving Ground organized by the Army Test and Evaluation Command.

Kyiv, Ukraine

Mary performed at the National Tchaikovsky Musical Academia Theater and opened the Mary Wilson Gown Collection at Ukrainsky Dim in Kyiv, Ukraine last week. The opening and subsequent concert was covered by the Ukrainian media. The gown collection will be on display at Ukrainsky Dim through the 14th of February.

Stop in the Name of Love: Supreme's PA copyright fight

State Rep. Rosita Youngblood, D-Germantown is pushing the General Assembly for a tighter copyright-violations law (HB 727) that she says would fill a gap in Pennsylvania's current trademark legislation. She stated, "It was brought to my attention by Mary Wilson of The Supremes." UPDATE: On October 19th, Governor Rendell signed HB727 Anti-Counterfeiting Trademark into law.

Musicians push royalties as broadcasters gather in Las Vegas

A founding member of "The Supremes", a Broadway conductor and stage actor tried to get the attention of broadcasters on the Las Vegas strip today. The performers held a press conference to push the Performance Rights Act, which would require broadcasters to pay royalties to singers, bands and other performers whose songs air on the radio. {Read more on TheHill.com}


Motown hits high note at Mission Estate

Mary toured the U.K., Australia and New Zealand with other Motown stars in celebration of Motown's 50th Anniversary. The New Zealand concert, which was held at the Mission Estate Winery, was titled "The Motown Event". The Motown stars performed to a crowd of 22,000.
